Joseph Gordon-Levitt is refusing to comment to rumors that he’s gay in the new issue of Out magazine, which he appears on the cover of.
Though he was open about most subjects, this one is off limits. "That would be really tacky—they would win if I had to clarify,” he said of the rumors.
What he did agree to discuss was the idea of living life in the public eye, admitting it made him “anxious” at first.
"It can be really awkward and difficult to be thought of as this thing on TV," he explained, E! Online notes. "Before understanding it or being able to analyze it, I just knew it made me really anxious."
Gordon-Levitt opened up about the tragic death of his older brother, Dan, who died in 2010. The duo started the record company hitRECord together, and he credits its success to his brother.
"He was so overwhelmingly positive and warm. One of my favorite things about hitRECord is how positive it is, especially compared to most of what goes on on the Internet, which can be snarky and cynical. I credit Dan with that,” he explained.
The Inception gushed that their parents instilled in them the “feeling that we're part of the world, and that that's important.”
