The talent that will be on hand to celebrate the life and career of television legend Carol Burnett when she receives the John F. Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humor has been announced. The list includes Tina Fey, Julie Andrews, Martin Short and others will be make appearances.
The group of speakers includes Fey and her friend, Amy Poehler. Parks and Recreation’s Rashida Jones, singer Tony Bennett, Lucy Arnaz, Tim Conway, Vicki Lawrence, Saturday Night Live alum Maya Rudolph and Rosemary Watson were also announced.
Burnett was named the latest recipient of the Mark Twain Prize in May. Ellen DeGeneres received the award last year, while Will Ferrell won it the year before. Fey also won in 2010.
Other past recipients include George Carlin, Bill Cosby, Whoopi Goldberg, Neil Simon, Steve Martin, Bob Newhart and Billy Crystal.
“I can't believe I'm getting a humor prize from the Kennedy Center. It's almost impossible to be funnier than the people in Washington,” Burnett said in May. She is best known for The Carol Burnett Show, which won an amazing 11 Emmys during its 11-year run.
Tickets for the Oct. 20 event in Washington are sold out, but WETA is taping it. PBS will air the program on Nov. 24.
