Kate Upton was asked about rumors she’s dating Dancing with the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy while at the 10th Annual Style Awards.
The Sports Illustrated model was named Model of the Year at the event and wore a black cocktail dres with zipper details.
She was asked by Extra about the relationship, but she denied anything romantic was going on. “We’re just friends,” she said.
Of her honor, Upton said “It was so unexpected and I really enjoy what I do.
I get to work with these amazing people and these amazing photographers, it's unreal.”
Last month Upton was spotted holding hands with Chmerkovskiy during a night out at NYC hotspot Catch.
“They seemed pretty open about their relationship,” an onlooker said at the time. Rumors started to circulate around the duo starting in June, when they were spotted out having dinner at NYC’s Scalinatella.
Since then, they have both maintained they’re just good friends but continue to be spotted out together. Upton has been linked to P. Diddy and MLB star Justin Verlander in the past. Chmerkovskiy was previously engaged to fellow DWTS dancer Karina Smirnoff.
