Following Lamar Odom’s Friday arrest, the NBA player has hired on OJ Simpson’s lawyer Robert Shapiro.
TMZ reports that Odom hired on Shapiro to represent him in his upcoming court case following his DUI arrest. According to the report, Shapiro is known for his plea bargaining and representing OJ Simpson.
Odom is expected to plead no contest to the charges of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol when he sees the judge. Odom will likely lose his driver’s license for one year as he denied a blood-alcohol test at the time of his arrest.
TMZ notes that Odom should get probation and be forced to attend an alcohol education class in addition to his losing his driver’s license.
Odom was arrested Friday after the California Highway Patrol spotted him driving 50 mph on the 101 Freeway in a “serpentine manner.” Odom posted $15,000 bail and was released at 8 a.m. Saturday. He was spotted with his reality star wife, Khloe Kardashian-Odom shortly thereafter.
Odom’s arrest comes following numerous reports of drug abuse.
