Lance Bass announced his engagement Saturday to his boyfriend Michael Turchin.

Bass made the announcement on Twitter and Instagram, posting:

The couple began dating in December 2011, according to Us Weekly. Bass, 34, popped the question to Turchin in with a black diamond band in New Orleans.

Bass is best known as a former ‘N Sync member. This sure has been a big week for him. As well as getting engaged, he also performed at the MTV VMAs when he and the rest of the former boy band sang “Bye, Bye, Bye” as part of Justin Timberlake’s medley of songs.

Bass’s fiancé, Turchin, is also a performer - an actor and model, according to Advocate. Turchin also describes himself as a “nice, Jewish boy” on his Twitter bio.

Turchin tweeted of his engagement:

Turchin also took the time to respond to his Twitter friends’ congratulations, saying, “[Bass and I] can’t wait to celebrate back in LA!”

Bass’s radio co-host, Drew Pokorny, on his show “Dirty Pop” told People that Bass and Turchin are great together and that he’s really happy for them.

“Lance had his heart set on asking Michael here in New Orleans,” Pokorny said.

We wish all the best to the happy couple!
