Lindsay Lohan, who is on yet another post-rehab comeback attempt, has reportedly been asked to host Saturday Night Live again.

The show’s producers reportedly approached Lohan to do an episode, which could be the season opener, according to a RadarOnline source. “Saturday Night Live has approached Lindsay to host the show again, and they were talking about the season opener,” the source said.

Apparently, Lohan is considering doing it since “She loves the show and the people involved,” the source added.

Lohan previously hosted the show in March 2012 and her performance was widely panned by viewers. Still, it was that season’s second-highest rated episode.

SNL could certainly use the extra attention, since so many of its stars are leaving. Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader and Fred Armisen will all be gone this fall and Seth Meyers is leaving halfway through the season. Although considering that Lohan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey didn’t draw impressive ratings, she might not be the big star the long-running comedy needs to kick off the season.

In other Lohan news, she’s had to explain why she didn’t travel to Venice for a screening of The Canyons. In a statement on her website, she stressed that she never committed to the trip, so Canyons producers should not take her absence as an insult.

“Along with the positive messages and words of support of The Canyons at VFF, I am sending my own to the cast, producers and the amazing Paul Schrader. I am so grateful for the extraordinary experience of being a part of this film,” she said, adding that “Of course, I would have enjoyed returning to that wonderful city and being a part of this amazing event, but my focus is on my health and well-being. Plain and simple, it is of the utmost importance.”
