Madonna revealed in a press release this Tuesday that her short film, secretprojectrevolution will be released in a week to launch her project, Art for Freedom.
The iconic pop singer's 17-minute short film will be released September 24 at 2 p.m. EST.
BitTorrent and VICE Media will serve as hosts for the project and film. Madonna partnered up with VICE Media and BitTorrent so the film could be shown live online, to download for free as well to have submissions from the public.
"I hope my film and other submissions to Art For Freedom will be a call-to-action and give people a place to voice their own creative expression to help fight oppression, intolerance and complacency," said Madonna in the press release, according to Huffington Post.
By using the hashtag #artforfreedom, people will be able to submit original pieces and become involved in the movement, Art for Freedom.
"This film operates on many levels. It examines our private prisons. It questions what we do, how we do it, and how we treat others. It questions our governments, and our collective thought patterns. Think about it - the power of art can lead to peace," Klein said in the release, reported USA Today.
The pop icon is attempting to use poetry, music and photography as an outlet and reason for people to come together and become one unit of artistic expression.
