Maria Menounos is opening up about her thoughts on diet and exercise and what she does to keep her bikini-ready body healthy and toned. And the best part is, it doesn’t require a strict diet or gym membership!
The Extra host spoke to E! News about her fitness secrets.
“My secret is always be moving, that’s it,” she said. “I’m definitely someone who’s always running around, taking the stairs. Like today, we were at the Universal theme park and there was this enormous, endless set of stairs to get to the top of the mountain, and I’m like ‘Let’s take the stairs instead of the escalator’, running up full speed, and I wear one of those things that calculates how many steps you take, so my goal is 10,000 steps a day.”
The Greek goddess even admitted that she only worked out five times before her last magazine cover shoot. “I haven’t been able to work out in months,” she said. “And even before my last cover, I worked out five times before that cover. And they didn’t airbrush and hide anything. It was because I’m always moving. You have to, you have to find ways to do it.”
Life & Style Weekly reports that Menounos also believes in a ditching strict diets and focusing on fresh fruits and vegetables.
“Diets are confining,” she said. “I don’t count calories. I just try to eat as many fruits and vegetables as I can, stuff from the ground.”
The 35-year-old is known for her bangin’ bod and has been a role model for fitness since losing 40 pounds since college.
“It’s so weird. I never though my life would ever be about talking about that. I enver thought anybody would ever say that,” she said.
