NCIS' Mark Harmon might be the star of the show, but he definitely doesn't feel that way.
The veteran actor refuses to acknowledge the effort of surviving to an 11th season as anything but a team effort, reports Fox News.
"There's four of us who were there in the beginning, plus pretty much 90 percent of our crew," Harmon said. "We've been successful so far and we keep finding ways to grow" the show.
He added, "I'm not trying to shuck of our success, because it's all earned, every bit of it. By a lot of people." Those people would probably be the rest of the cast, which includes Michael Weatherly, David McCallum and Pauley Perrette.
The show has remained remarkably low in turnover, but the show did lose actress Cote de Pablo after the 10th season.
Harmon remarked upon her leaving that "it's up to this highly professional group to use that as a springboard, to improve and stay No. 1."
Pablo decided to not renew and it will be interesting to see how that affects the show's dynamic after the first two episodes.
Fox News notes that Harmon is willing continue with NCIS until his long commute begins to grind on him. "I think that will be the time to hang it up."
NCIS returns to CBS on Sept. 24.
