Mark Wahlberg might be an accomplished actor, but he is adding getting his high school diploma at the age of 42 to his list of accolades.
The Fighter star wrote an op/ed for the Huffington Post titled Winning My Toughest Role Yet: High School Grad.
In it, he writes his success story is unlikely for a high school dropout and he encourages everyone that education is key to ensure to maximum career achievements.
"Investment in education is a no-brainer in promoting personal and career growth and supporting our economic recovery,” he wrote.
He also said that through his charity Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, he’s partnered with the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens, which “empowers teens to make a personal commitment to graduate high school while providing the tools, support and community that high school students need to stay on track.”
Back in June of last year, Wahlberg told David Letterman what he was doing.
"I quit kind of during the ninth grade," he said at the time. "They're going to give me whatever credits I already have, which is probably like one or two."
