Floyd Mayweather Jr. dominates Canelo Alvarez in Veagas Saturday.
Mayweather won himself an easy $41.5 paycheck Saturday night with a convincing win over Canelo Alvarez. Mayweather proved what he has always set out to prove and that is that he is the greatest fighter of his era. He was in control from the start, winning a majority decision.
Facing an opponent who is bigger and supposedly punches harder, Mayweather made the undefeated Alvarez look like any other guy Mayweather has beat up on. According to FOX Sports, Mayweather was favored 117-111 and 116-112 on two ringside scorecards, and somehow on a third it was scored 114-114. The Associated Press scored it 109-109 for Mayweather.
CBS News reports that Mayweather remained unbeaten through 45 fights, winning a fight with a 152 pound weight limit. Alvarez weighed in in that limit but was an unofficial 165 when he entered the ring. Mayweather entered the ring at 150 even.
Mayweather really showed the world what he is made of on Saturday night.
