Following months of rumors of infidelity and speculation that their relationship is on the rocks, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus have officially called off their engagement.
The Last Song co-stars announced their engagement in June 2012, and only months later were plagued with rumors of a split. The 20-year-old “We Can’t Stop” singer and Hunger Games actor reps officially confirmed that the couple called off their plans to wed with People. Neither rep would offer further comment as to what caused the inevitable split.
Hemsworth was the subject of infidelity rumors last week after he was reportedly seen kissing a random brunette at the Toronto International Film Festival. The alleged kiss followed the actors reported dismay over his then fiancé’s MTV Video Music Awards performance, in which she grinding half naked against Robin Thicke and gyrated on a foam finger. Sources close to the actor said he was “embarrassed” watching her on television.
Currently Cyrus is prepping for the release of her new album, Bangerz, while Hemsworth is promoting the release of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
