Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are no longer engaged.

Earlier Monday morning, it was reported that Cyrus unfollowed Hemsworth on Twitter. A source also said the couple were taking a break saying, "they've split for now."

"Miley and Liam have a very tumultuous relationship and both are exhausted. It's a complicated relationship. The wedding is on hold for now. It's not cancelled but it doesn't look promising."

People is now reporting that the engagement is officially off as reps for both the singer and actor have reached out to the magazine to confirm the news.

The news isn't really surprising for the star couple since rumors of a split have been building since Cyrus' MTV VMA performance and even before. Earlier in the year the 20-year-old "Wrecking Ball" singer and 23-year-old Hunger Games actor had decided to postpone their wedding.

The couple have been seen more apart than together since last being seen together in Canada while Hemsworth was shooting Cut Bank.

There were also rumors that Hemsworth cheated on Cyrus while attending the Toronto International Film Festival. But his rep denied the reports.
