Miley Cyrus’ latest music video for “Wrecking Ball” has everyone talking. The former clean-cut Disney starlet stripped down for the video, swinging back and forth on a wrecking ball. While many are calling the music video too controversial for some of her younger fans, Cyrus opened up about the video calling it an “emotional experience.”
Cyrus spoke with The Elvis Duran radio show where she opened up about her much talked about MTV Video Music Awards twerking performance and her recently revealed music video.
“I think the video is much more. If people get past the point I'm naked, and you actually look at me, you can tell I look more broken than even the song sounds,” she explained as quoted by USA Today. “The song is a pop ballad that everyone can relate too; everyone has felt that feeling at some point. but If people can take their minds off the obvious and go into their imagination and see what the video really means and the way that it is so vulnerable.”
After “Wrecking Ball” was released, reports surfaced that the song was about her tumultuous relationship with actor Liam Hemsworth. Since announcing their engagement in 2012, Cyrus and Hemsworth have seen their fair share of ups and downs, especially in last few months. Rumors also noted that Hemsworth was less than thrilled with her grinding on married man, Robin Thicke.
“…If you look at my eyes I look more sad than actually my voice sounds on the record,” she continued. “It was a lot harder to actually do the video than it was to record the song. It was much more of an emotional experience."
