Miley Cyrus finally spoke out in an MTV interview about her racy performance on the MTV Video Music Awards.
Cyrus' performance has sparked record numbers of public reactions. According to USA Today, she has even outshined Beyonce's Super Bowl performance on Twitter for most tweets per minute. And now she claims that she planned it all – from the twerking to sticking out her tongue to the foam finger.
But the 20 year old really doesn't think her performance was a big deal. “What's amazing is I think now, we're three days later and people are still talking about it. They're overthinking it," she said. "Like, I didn't even think about it 'cause that's just me."
Cyrus also blames the raunchy performance in part to her rough life. "I have so many f---ing issues.” Well, she certainly made those issues known to everyone in America and elsewhere.
“Blurred Lines” singer Robin Thicke and Cyrus exchanged excitement about making history before the show, according to the Daily News. And make history they did indeed.
"Madonna's done it. Britney's done it. Every VMA performance, that's what you're looking for; you're wanting to make history." Although much of the news on the ex-Disney star is negative, the duo did gain an unprecedented amount of attention.
Does Cyrus let the criticism get to her head? “I don't pay attention to the negative because I've seen this play out so many times. How many times have we seen this play out in pop music?"
What will Cyrus cook up in her next performance?
