Many believed that the royal couple, Duchess Kate Middleton and Prince William met at St. Andrews University but biographer Katie Nicholl told otherwise in her new book, Kate: The Future Queen.
Vanity Fair contributor Nicholl revealed that the two crossed paths way before they enrolled at St. Andrews in 2001.
"This was really fascinating for me," Nicholl told Couric, stated Us Magazine. "I was speaking to some of her friends at Marlborough School, which was where she went before St. Andrews, and they said, 'She didn't meet him at St. Andrews. She met him before she got there...through some of her friends. They knew Prince William and Prince Harry.'"
Nicholl especially found it interesting since Middletown wasn't going to go to St. Andrews at first. She originally wanted to enroll in Edinburgh but she had a change of heart, took a year off and reapplied to St. Andrews.
"The young royals are interesting, they're dynamic, they do give interviews," said Nicholl, according to E!Online. "I think we're going to see Kate emerge over the next few years, but with that emergence and with those interviews, of course you end up taking some of the enigma away, so it's a fine balance."
