Stanford football has had a great, undefeated start to their 2013 season. With key players such as Stepfan Taylor and Zach Ertz graduating last year, it was going to be interesting to see how this team, coached by David Shaw, would do this year.

In their first 3 games, the team has started strong with wins against San Jose State, Army, and Arizona State. This weekend they look to play Washington State, and it’s going to be a “physical” game. According to ESPN.com , David Shaw stated that he sees “the same effort, guys are playing hard.”

Kevin Hogan, the Stanford quarterback, has had a great start to the season with 7 touchdown passes, along with Tyler Gaffney and Anthony Wilkerson rushing a combined total of over 450 yards. Ty Montgomery and Devon Cajuste are other players to watch for on the Stanford offensive end. Senior captain Shayne Skov, is also a powerhouse on the defensive end for Stanford.

According to Bleacher Report, Stanford can ensure another win this weekend with some key changes to their style of play, but it is all very possible.

After this weekends game against Washington State, Stanford is looking to play some powerhouse teams in the upcoming weeks, with games against University of Oregon, USC, UC Berkeley, and Notre Dame.
