Oprah Winfrey maybe wishing that she didn’t hand Lindsay Lohan millions of dollars to make a reality mini-series about the troubled star’s latest comeback attempt. The former talk show host reportedly had a showdown with Lohan to try to get the series back on track.
TMZ sources say that the project has been a disaster since day one, with Lohan often being late or just not showing up at all, which doesn’t work for Winfrey. So, she personally went to Lohan’s mother Dina’s home on Long Island to meet with Lohan. There, she told her to get her act together or she loses out on the $2 million deal for the series.
Lohan said that she was trying to find an apartment in New york and came up with other excuses, including other commitments and “miscommunications” with the OWN team. Winfrey wasn’t buying it and now Lohan is prepared to get the OWN series back on track.
Back in July, it was announced that Winfrey would have a sit down with Lohan and would produce a series that will air next year. It was timed with her latest comeback attempt after another stint in rehab.
Apparently, Lohan and Winfrey have become close, as there were reports that Winfrey didn’t want Lohan to go to Europe. She was “proud” of Lohan for cancelling the trip.
“All I can say about it is this: I believe that she believes that she is ready to move forward in her life,” Winfrey told Today last month. “And we'll see.”
