If you want a premium seat for the 2014 Super Bowl, it's going to come at quite the cost, each seat is only a mere $2,600.
That price is more than double what it was for the 2013 Super Bowl in New Orleans, The Associated Press reports. The price for the last one was $1,250 for premium seats.
The prices mentioned are not considered final, though whether they go up more or down remains to be seen. The NFL wants to "close the gap between the face value of the ticket and its true value as reflected on the secondary market," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said.
According to Los Angeles Times, McCarthy added, "The uniqueness of the Super Bowl in the New York/New Jersey is also driving unprecedented demand and buzz."
Only about 9,000 seats will be at the $2,600, while the next level will be at $1,500, which is still an increase of $550 from last year. 40 percent of the general admission tickets will be priced under $1,000.
The cheapest tickets will go at $500, but the lottery for that already long ago filled up with 30,000 entering, but only 1,000 who will be selected later this fall.
MetLife Stadium has a capacity of 82,500.
