Teresa and Joe Giudice of The Real Housewives of New Jersey fame sat down for an emotional interview with Andy Cohen for a special edition of Watch What Happens Live after the season finale of their show.
While there, they discussed the 39 criminal counts they’ve been charged with, and the possibility of leaving their four daughters; Gia, 12, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 7, and Audriana, 3, behind to go to jail.
Joe professed their innocence, saying “We pleaded not guilty for a reason, because we're not guilty."
"If God forbid something should ever happen to where we would have to worry about where the kids would go, it wouldn't be Melissa and Joe," Joe also said,E! Online reports. "I would have my sister, I would have my brother…I don't even think my kids would want to go with Melissa and Joe after all the things they say on television about their mom."
Teresa, who called it “devastating,” said of facing jail time, "I'm not really thinking about that right now. I'm just focusing on my family, being a wife, a mom to my four beautiful daughters."
She also admitted of the multiple counts against them, including wire fraud, tax evasion, and brankruptcy fraud, "Some of [the charges] I understand, some of them I don't.”
People reports that Cohen asked the couple, who often flashed their money on the Bravo show, if they’ve ever lived beyond their means and they said “no.”
"Whatever I could afford to buy I would buy. We work hard, so what, we are allowed to make money. It's part of that's what we do, I'm a business man and I make money,” Joe said.
Their next court date is in February.
