The Detroit Lions, for the first time in the team's history, beat the Redskins in Washington D.C.

Robert Griffin III is struggling coming out of the gate this season and if he and the rest of his team don't turn it around soon they will not turn out to be the team they are all cracked up to be. Their hopes of winning the NFC East are dwindling away with every game they lose.

According to NFL.com the Redskins' game plan was to get Griffin III to throw the ball around early, using play action and read option passes to gain some yardage.

RGIII made his mistakes, including a first half interception (his fourth on the season) and a second half fumble after a 21-yard scramble. The defense did not play very well either, tackling as poorly as expected.

Washington Post reports that of the 161 NFL teams to start the season 0-3 since 1978, only five made it into the postseason.
