Reggie Bush looked just fine in his return from a left knee injury.
The Lions scored 27 second quarter points, including Bush's 37-yard touchdown run. Bush had 173 yards of total offense in the Lions' 40-32 win over the Bears. This win put the Lions into a tie with the Bears for first place in the NFC North according to ESPN.
Despite the win the Lions still made some late-game mistakes, which almost cost them the game. USA Today reports that Joique Bell fumbled in the fourth quarter, and after that the defensive backfield gave up two touchdowns and two-point conversions.
"I think at the end of the year, when we get to where we're going I think we'll be excited," guard Rob Sims said. "Right now we've just got to keep grinding. We understand. We remember the lessons from 2011 where we go win five (straight to start the year) and then the middle gets a little shaky. We know that lesson now. No one's going to get too high with the highs and too low with the lows, just keep plugging away."
The Lions improve to 3-1 and give the Bears their first loss in the process.
