Taverna di Bacco is the sister restaurant of Grano Trattoria. If you wish to visit Grano, you can check out my review here.
Taverna is located on Ludlow Street in the East Village of NYC. As he does in Grano Trattoria, chef and owner Maurizio Crescenzo focuses on authentic, quality Italian food. .
The ambiance is warm and cozy with brick walls and candlelight. There is also a lovely garden out back if you wish to dine al fresco.
The menu options include great appetizers and delicious homemade pastas and entrees. The only thing missing is the wood burning brick oven pizza that you can find at Grano.
On my visit to Taverna, I brought my Sicilian boyfriend who loves good Italian food even more than I do. For appetizers, we ordered tender and delicious calamari which were served with a spicy marina sauce.
As in Grano, the staff was pleasant and accommodating. Maurizio is dedicated to his craft which comes out in the food that arrives at your table and the overall experience.
If you are looking for a great spot for a date or dinner with friends, visit Taverna di Bacco.
