Although rapper Rick Ross was fired from Reebok for talking about rape in a song, he still supports Reebok. In an interview with the Associated Press, he talks about how he still wears Reebok shoes and Jay-Z’s influence on him.

Back in April TMZ reported that Rick Ross would lose between $3.5 million to $5 million from Reebok. He would get a pay check every time he wore Reebok shoes.

In the song U.O.E.N.O. that he recorded with Rocko, he had some lyrics that didn’t sit well with women’s groups.

“Put Molly all in the champagne. She ain’t even know it. I took her home and I enjoy that. She ain’t even know it.”

CNN broke the story about a protest against Reebok for not firing Rick Ross. Consequently Reebok responded and fired the rapper.

Even though Rick Ross lost his deal with Reebok, in an interview with the Associated Press the Miami rapper admits that he continues to wear and support Reebok.

In the interview last week, he says “I’m still supporting Reebok. I’m still wearing Reebok. It’s nothing more than that. I’ve been wearing Reebok my whole life. Still got nothing but love for Reebok.”

When asked about Jay-Z who has supported him since he signed to Def Jam label in 2006, he says, “He’s been a part of pretty much every project I’ve put together as a solo artist. He’s always been there any time I’ve made a call. It’s just an array of things I’ve learned from him outside of music, like handling business and money.”

Jay-Z is a huge mentor to aspiring moguls like Rick Ross himself. Rick Ross has own label “Maybach Music Group” which hosts artists like Wale and Meek Mill.
