Sandra Bullock is already getting Oscar buzz for her performance alongside George Clooney in Gravity, but the actress is opening up about the Academy Award she did win for her role in The Blind Side.
During a Q&A with director Alfonso Cuaran at the Toronto Film Festival, Bullock talked about having a newborn baby at the time she won her Oscar.
"Most people have that out-of-body experience when they win the Oscar," she said, Marshallfield News-Herald reports. "I had a little newborn at home . So my body was already out of itself. And I think it was the universe's way of humbling me and saying, 'You know what's important? The acid reflux vomit that's happening right now.’”
She continued that she still hasn’t “gotten around to having my moment with it yet,"but notes “maybe one day it will come.”
“What it does do is make you realize how hard you have to work to earn it,” she added, admitting she “didn't feel worthy of it when I got it.”
EW notes Bullock as a stranded astronaut will likely go against Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine, Kate Winslet in Labor Day, and Emma Thompson in Saving Mr. Banks for an Oscar.
