Secret week on The Talk continued, this time Sara Gilbert revealing her struggles with realizing that she is gay and feeling unable to voice it.
New York Daily News reports that Gilbert revealed she first realized that she is gay while dating Roseanne co-star Johnny Galecki.
Gilbert explained that it was her longstanding friendship with Galecki that helped her come to terms with her sexuality. "I want people to know there can still be a struggle with it, and that's okay.”
Gilbert and Galecki began dating and the two would “make out” but shortly thereafter the 38-year-old actress noted she would “get depressed.”
"I eventually told him I thought it was about my sexuality, and he was super sweet about it,” she explained. “I started dating a woman who was like 18 years older than I was, who was also in the public eye.”
Gilbert, who also holds a small role as Leslie Winkle on The Big Bang Theory alongside Galecki, notes that she confided in her longtime friend before coming out with her story Friday morning.
"I called him, and I just said, 'Is it okay? I'm thinking of talking about this," she said. "The story sort of starts with you. And I've got to say I made out with you and got depressed, which is kind of a bummer."
"[He said], 'Of course. I love you, and I think it's really important. And I'm so proud of you … If you want, I will be there, and I will hold your hand.' It was so sweet, and this story really makes Johnny look good,” she adds.
Earlier this week, fellow co-host Sharron Osbourne revealed a fling with Jay Leno, Aisha Tyler revealed struggles with infertility and Julie Chen noted her struggles with racial discrimination and there had plastic surgery to fix her “Asian eyes.”
