Kerry Washington has been named People Magazine’s Best Dressed Woman of 2013. The Scandal star follows Gwyneth Paltrow, who got the honor last year.
Washington has stunned on the red carpet in designers such as Miu Miu and Jason Wu, and she has said she collaborates with her stylist Erin Walsh for each red carpet she walks.
“Erin and I really work hand in hand,” she told Peopel. “We’re always sending each other ideas and pictures.”
She added of how she chooses her dresses, “For me the goal is to feel comfortable, event-appropriate and to be an elevated, more special version of myself or to feel like the best version of myself in that context and just be in the moment.”
According to NBC, 36-year-old Washington wasn’t the only one recognized for her fashion choices.
Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence’s high-fashion style was celebrated, as well as Zoe Saldana for her denim style, Zero Dark Thirty’s Jessica Chastain for her red-carpet style and, Kate Bosworth for her street style.
Washington has much more to celebrate than her recent style recognition and professional accomplishments. She secretly married NFL cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha over the summer. The two started dating in the summer of 2012 and tied the knot in Idaho on June 24 of this year.
