Fox News anchor Shepard Smith is moving from primetime slot and changing the template of his earlier show.

According to Deadline. Smith's 7 p.m. ET slot will be open as he changes his 3 p.m. slot.

The new news program on at 3 p.m. is called Shepard Smith Reporting and will replace Studio B. He will also become the managing editor of a multi-platform breaking news division.

Through that new role, Smith will break in both online and on-air with stories throughout the Fox News Channel day.

Chief Roger Ailes said in a statement, "Shep is a premier journalist and one of the finest newsmen of the modern era. He will exemplify the ethos that FOX News is when and where the news is, as it happens, no longer bound by a traditional evening format."

Mediaite reports that Shepard Smith Reporting will "rely on an extraordinary combination of technologies and social media to bring viewers the latest hard news across all FNC platforms, allowing them to witness how news is gathered."

Back in July, as previously reported fellow Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly would be moving to primetime.

Perhaps she will be moving to Smith's old spot at 7.
