Simon Cowell and baby mama Lauren Silverman are going to be welcoming a baby boy in the coming months.
Us Weekly reports that the former judge of American Idol and his socialite girlfriend have known the gender for a while. Cowell seems to be warming up to the idea of becoming a dad quickly. He recently told the BBC, "I am good with kids because I like kids. I really do like them and I listen to them. Once I got used to [the idea of becoming a father] I did get excited. I think I will be a good dad!"
According to New York Daily News, he even spent the weekend gushing about ultrasound photos of his soon-to-be-born baby boy. Cowell was in London this weekend while Silverman was back in Manhattan after joining Cowell on a luxury vacation in Europe. Reportedly, she is planning on moving into a new apartment this week, having given up the $6 million pad she shared with former husband, Andrew Silverman, as part of their divorce settlement.
After a September 3 sonogram, Cowell, who is known for his honest, critical feedback, said, "You literally see this thing which is now alive moving around." Clearly, it didn't take long for Cowell's paternal instincts to kick in after this experience because he added, "I feel very paternal right now. So I am very happy." Despite this, Cowell promises his fans that he won't let fatherhood change him too much, saying, "I can assure you: I won't go soft."
