Simon Cowell has enlisted many celebrity judges for all of the versions of The X Factor, the U.S. edition having Demi Lovato, Paulina Rubio and Kelly Rowland. But Cowell now has his eyes set on British singer Rita Ora for next year’s cast of the show, although it isn’t clear which installment.
Ora was seen meeting with Cowell at his Los Angeles mansion on Wednesday night, allegedly to talk about her involvement in the show.
According to The Mirror, Ora, 22, was wearing a women’s pantsuit to the meeting. She turned down his offer last year, but she could possibly be ready now.
The singer previously said of wanting to focus her attention on her music, “There were talks. But if I were to take on that role it would have to be at a point when I could give it my full attention. I have so much to accomplish first and it’s kind of a full-time job being on X Factor. It’s not like a nine to five. It’s constant, for months.”
“I love it but if I was to take on a full-time role it would be at a point when I’m loads of albums in,” she said.
Cowell even offered her a private jet to go between London tapings of the show to shows in Coventry, where she was opening up for Coldplay.
According to MTV, Cowell is desperate to sign Ora on as judge as the ratings were great when she guest judged last year.
During her trip to the U.S. this week, Ora has met with other people besides Cowell. She was seen having dinner with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s wife, Gwyneth Paltrow and partying with Fashion Police’s Kelly Osbourne.
