So You Think You Can Dance has been confirmed for an eleventh season.
Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe confirmed that the popular dance show would return for another season during Tuesday night’s finale, Vulture reports.
According to TV Series Finale, Lythgoe revealed that Fox officials confirmed the news just five minutes before he was set to go on air. Lythgoe acts as both executive producer and judge for the series which is hosted by Cat Deeley.
SYTYCD’s return was questionable after the series saw a decline in ratings. Last season the series saw 5.47 million total viewers, whereas this year the show only saw 4.47 million. TV Series Finale notes that next season may only air one episode a week as opposed to two in previous years.
Fox has not made an official announcement confirming the reality series’ return.
In addition to the exciting news of the shows renewal, Amy Yakim and Fik-Shun were crowned the winners of this season.
Season 11 is slated to air in summer 2014.
