Welcome back to Charming. When we last saw our favorite biker gang, Jax had successfully orchestrated the murder of Damon Pope, pinning in on Clay and getting the former club president sent to prison. Tara was also being locked up for her role in the murder of Pamela Toric, the nurse that Otto had brutally killed to kill the RICO case against the Sons.
Season six picks up just after the events of last season's finale. Chibbs has taken over as VP, as it seems Bobby is set on transferring to another charter, not very happy with the direction Jax has gone with the club. Filling Chibb's void at Sergeant at Arms is Happy, which is fitting, as he's been consistently the most violent background character on the show, so hopefully this will bring him more to the forefront. August Marks has taken over for Pope, and Marks still wants Tig dead in honor of Pope.
Lowen goes to meet with Tara. The lawyer can't figure out who's the one that got Tara locked up, but hopefully will know more by the time Tara's bail hearing rolls around the next morning. Tara is also told Jax is on his way, and tells Lowen that she doesn't want him to see her in that environment. Jax runs into Lowen on her way out of the prison. Lowen drops the theory that it could have been Gemma.
In prison, Lee Toric seems to have a handle on everyone associated with the MC. He has arranged for Otto, who can't talk after biting off his own tongue, to be raped every day by other inmates. He all but gets Tara to admit to various felonies while on camera in an interrogation room. The one person he seems to be helping is Clay, who he sets up in a "private suite." Toric offers Clay protection if he turns on the club, an offer he has to come to a decision on before he goes back to gen-pop, or he'll likely die in there.
A little boy gets dressed for school and kisses his sleeping mother on his way out. On his way out of the house, Arcadio, Nero's second in command, walks in. Aracadio greets the boy. The boy has a journal with him, always writing in it just like Jax does at the onset of a lot of episodes.
After Jax goes to confront Gemma about possibly being the one got his wife sent to prison, Chibbs and Tig bring a beat up Lyla into Diosa. Lyla needed some extra cash, so Ima set her up with the Ghanezi brothers, Persians who specialize in torture porn. Ima tells Jax where he can find them, and the Sons head up to Stockton. Nero tells Jax that if they go up there, they need to clear it with an ex-cop named Barosky, the guy who runs the docks. Jax brushes it off.
The Sons, Nero and some of his crew arrive at the docks. Inside the warehouse, the Persians are filming some pretty sick stuff, and the camera surprisingly doesn't shy away. Jax and the boys pull their guns out to ensure their entry and question the brothers, Amir and Kia, about Lyla. They say she knew what she was getting into. After looking around the warehouse, they see one girl locked in a cage and another tied to a bed, who was more or less getting raped on camera. Jax tells them to pay the girls and let them go. Kia goes to get money out of the safe, but pulls a gun instead. A firefight ensues. No principles end up dead, just some minor wounds, but the cops do show up just after the Sons force Amir into the cage and lock him up.
In a nearby cafe, a man puts down his newspaper and heads out the back door. The blond boy is sitting outside reading and writing. Jax, Nero, Chibbs and Tig are dropped off by the cops in the back of the cafe. Out walks the man who has reading the paper, Charles Barosky (guest star Peter Weller). He's not exactly pleased the Sons went on his turf without his knowledge, just as Nero had warned Jax about. Jax explains the situation, and Barosky then tells Jax about someone he knows in Stockton that wants to move her escort service legit, just as Nero did with Diosa. Jax jumps on the opportunity, but Nero is a little uneasy that this wasn't a group decision.
Back at the warehouse, Jax tells Tig to clear it out, take any equipment they could use for Caracara. Inside, Tig tells the man he just let out of the cage to get out of there. The Persian unwisely tells Tig that he hopes Tig will see his daughter in one of his films. Not smart. Tig grabs the man and drowns him in the nearby bathtub full of urine and vinegar. Then adds some volume to the tub. Tig then puts him back in he cage, and dumps the dead body in the water.
Jax and Nero meet with Collette (guest star Kim Dickens), the escort who wants to go legit. They strike a deal. Nero leaves to go see his son, but Jax goes with Collette to her brothel to check it out. As Jax gets on his bike, the blond boy is still sitting at the table outside of the cafe. The two lock eyes for a second, then Jax rides away.
Collette shows Jax her brothel, which is located in a very nice looking Victorian style house. She tells him that they do very well, with most of the clientele being Navy men coming off the ships. She invites Jax to stay, knowing he's married, but he refuses. Jax then gets a call from Lowen. She tells Jax that Tara doesn't want him at the hearing the next day. Jax feels shut out, and we've seen him regress before. The fact that he's in a brothel doesn't bode well for his marriage vows.
Back at the clubhouse, Chibbs talks to Juice alone in the garage. Chibbs has always had Juice's back, but knowing what he knows - Juice ratting, killing Miles - might not help him now. He confronts Juice about everything. Talking about how angry he is, Chibbs tells Juice he needs to get rid of it. Juice tells Chibbs he loves him, then the Irishman proceeds to beat the living hell out of Juice. Juice doesn't fight back, taking punch after punch.
Collette sees Jax moping on her couch. She offers to "listen," and we all know what that means. Jax follows her up to her room.
Lee Toric is alone in his hotel room. Well, not exactly alone. All of his needle and drug friends are with him. We knew something had to be up with this guy. The drugs are probably part of the reason that he was thrown out of the Marshall service.
Chibbs rides home after patching Juice up. He passes the blond boy as he is leaving school. The boy sits down on a bench, and begins to roll up his sleeves. There are numerous cuts on one arm. He takes out his journal, and then a semi-automatic weapon and loads it. He walks toward the school. The pages of his journal turn in the breeze. Many, many dark and depressing drawings follow, as well as pages upon pages of angry writing, including a whole page of "God hates bullies" written over and over again. The school bell rings, and the bullets start flying. This show's always gone the violent route, but this is one of the darkest things they've done yet.
As the closing musical montage beings, emergency personnel are at the school. Arcadio comforts his girlfriend, the blond boy's mother. Clay takes Toric's deal and heads back to solitary. Tig goes to Jax's house and looks in on the boys. Bobby circles a few places on the map where members might want to break off and go Nomad with him. Tara beats the hell out of another inmate who had stolen her blanket. And, as the episode ends, Jax climbs into bed with Collette.
