Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (a.k.a the Superbowl of modeling)? Well, behind the scenes it's not so glamorous and it's certainly not so easy. The fashion show's creative director, Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou, has called the casting process "terrifying" for the models.

Neophitou-Apostolou spoke with Vogue UK about what happens in the audition process. "They are provisionally cast by John Pfeiffer but the final decision is made by the whole team, sitting at this long table in a room with really harsh lighting and they have to walk towards us and away from us. They all have to do it - even the contracted girls - and it's incredibly nerve-wracking for them." That means even the most well-known Angels, Adriana Lima, Gisele Bündchen, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Miranda Kerr, to name a few, must audition for the show. If they're not deemed "show-ready," they won't walk. Apostolou goes on to say "It's really like being an Olympian - they have to be in peak condition. It's not about being thin or anything like that - it's about being ready to perform and be the best you can be in that moment."

How do they get "show-ready?" Of course, the models work out and diet constantly, but this show requires them to kick it into high-gear. Adriana Lima revealed her routine to The Telegraph"It is really intense, it's not really the amount of time you spend working out, it's the intensity: I jump rope, I do boxing, I lift weights, but I get bored doing that. If I am not moving I get bored very easily." For nine days before the show, she must adhere to a strict diet limited to protein shakes made with powdered egg whites.

The 2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will air on CBS on Tuesday, December 10 at 10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT.
