Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s $20 million Brentwood, Calif. mansion is featured on the October issue of Architectural Digest. The home is 14,000-square-feet and is environmentally conscious and eco-friendly.
The home boasts a gym, spa, wine cellar, nursery and eight bedrooms. On Wednesday, the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Margaret Russell, appeared on the Today Show and talked about her personal experience inside the home.
"Tom Brady literally opened the door to me and took me through the house and I found out how committed they are to an eco-conscious lifestyle. It made the story even more special," she explained.
She also said of the supermodel’s closet, “Gisele is very organized. She has a chandelier. It's a great room," and the football star’s gym, "I've never ever seen a gym like this. I think that's his dream part of the house.”
E! Online reports the home boasts energy sustainable appliances and a solar energy paneled roof. A whopping 90 percent of the home’s materials were recycled or antiques.
Russell explained, "Everything was about how to make it more sustainable so 90 percent of the materials of the house are recycled or antique or reclaimed from the ceilings to the floors to the stones in the driveway. And more than three-quarters of the construction debris was recycled."
Another interesting aspect of the home was Bundchen’s desire to have an indoor/outdoor kitchen to “teach her kids the connection between the land and their food.” They have a chicken coup as well, where they get their eggs fresh daily.
