The talent has just gotten hotter! With NBC's new season of The Voice, the blind auditions kicked off its season premiere with a great start!
Who wouldn’t want to see all four original coaches reunite once again? Yes folks, I'm talking about Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Ceelo Green who reunited for the premiere of The Voice, which aired Monday and Tuesday night. But if you missed it, don’t you worry! We’ve got you covered! From Adam and Blake’s bro-mance, to Christina and Ceelo’s return here are the top 10 highlights of the two-hour premiere of The Voice.
10. No one can pull off black and white striped pants other than Kat Robichaud.
Kicking off the season premiere, was rock star Kat Robichaud, from North Carolina, singing "I've Got the Music in Me." Her performance laid out an edgier sound, and about halfway through her performance, managed to turn three chairs; Christina, Ceelo, and Blake. However, after a great fight between the coaches, Robichaud joined Team Ceelo.
9. Ceelo picks up his second artist back to back.
Well that's a first. Following Robichaud's spectacular performance was soul singer Caroline Pennell. Who actually, was one of my personal favorites. Pennell who sang "Anything could Happen," also caught the attention of coaches Blake Shelton and Ceelo Green pushing their buttons at almost the exact time, but declined Blake's offer, and joined Ceelo's team.
8. Contestants love to tease and hit on the coaches
I mean c'mon who wouldn't want to hit on Adam Levine? He's one of Hollywood's hottest males. But lets not go there. After turning both Adam and Ceelo's chair, Nic Hawk teased Adam and said, "see my only problem is i wouldn't know if i would be able to focus because you're so good looking." But in the end followed his heart and chose the one and only, Adam Levine.
7. Who said age could hold you back from reaching your dreams?
Yes, in The Voice age is nothing but a number. It's all about.. well the voice. Oldest contestant Donna Allen, performed "You are so Beautiful," catching the attention of Adam and Christina just after her highest note was sung. Allen, joined Team Adam, who originally became his first member for the season.
6. Famous people audition, too!
If you watched the Rugrats as a child, then you must remember the voice of E.G Daily as Tommy. Who would've thought, right? And, lets not forget her as Dottie from Pee-Wee's Big Adventure E.G Daily performs "Breathe," and does it amazingly well. E.G chooses team Blake.
5. You sure cannot forget an instant four chair turnaround.
It is a thrill to see who the contestant will choose after managing to turn the chairs of all four coaches, and contestant, Matthew Schuler, sure had a tough one. With not even ten seconds into his song, Schuler wowed all four coaches with his performance of "Cough Syrup." He sure did know how to work it. Schuler however, chose to join the only woman coach, Ms. Christina Aguilera.
4. That last final performance that just keeps you wanting more.
The last performance of the night was magical. Singer Tessannee Chin, sings "Try." The powerhouse singer spins all four coaches in their chairs, which makes all four coaches fight for the last pick of the night. Tessannee, however, follows her heart and decides to join team... Adam!
3. The bromance between Adam and Blake.
There is no denying this one. There is always a bromance between Adam and Blake. It is a must.
2. The coaches love making fun of each other
It is always a blast seeing each coach tell each other off. It's only fun and games right? Whether it's country singer, Blake Shelton's accent that is getting made fun of, or his trademark dance after winning a four chair turnaround all four coaches do share deeply a love for each other. Holly Henry, which is another one to add to my favorites captures the attention of all coaches. Performing the song "The Scientist," Holly immediately makes Blake turn his chair around. Following Blake, was Adam, Ceelo and Christina. However, in the end Holly chooses team Blake.
1. You cannot forget Ceelo and his love for 16-year-old Jacque Lee's boots.
How we missed you Mr. Ceelo Green! In the second half of the premiere, Ceelo fell in love with 16-year-old contestant Jacque Lee's boots. "I like those boots. I wonder if they make those boots for dudes," said Ceelo. He even asked her if they were from Aldo, then asked her for permission to take a picture of them, which he did! Luckily for Jacque, she chose team Christina, but oh, Ceelo! We're glad you are back.
