The Browns make a bold move by sending running back Trent Richardson to the Colts for a high draft pick in 2014

The Browns are looking to rebuild and are wasting no time in starting the process. This move, which shocked the league, came together in almost no time. Browns CEO Joe Banner said Wednesday that the trade that sent Richardson to Indianapolis was not even discussed until one day prior to the move.

The move benefits the Colts after running back Vick Ballard suffered a season ending knee injury, according to NFL.com. Losing Ballard doesn't seem so bad for the team anymore after acquiring a potential franchise running back in Richardson.

"The moment presented itself based on the situation the Colts found themselves in," Banner told reporters shortly after the trade was announced. "It wasn't something we could say, 'Can you wait three weeks and let us think about this or learn more?' We had to decide whether we thought it was a move that would make us better, and we had to make that decision now. We decided to move forward."

USA Today reported an anonymous NFL team executive saying "Cleveland knows they have time and are just accumulating picks. Sooner or later (the) future will get here."
