Adam Clayton, the bassist for the band U2, married Brazilian model Mariana Teixeira de Carvalho on Wednesday in Dublin, Ireland.
According to People, the 53-year-old bassist and his new Brazilian bride dated for four years before finally getting engaged this year.
Clayton proposed to Teixeira in Brazil while celebrating Carnival.
Their wedding was a fairly small and subdued event, as they wed at the Dublin registry office, Zap2it reports. Fellow band member ,The Edge, and his wife Morleigh Steinberg witnessed the marriage.
Though the initial ceremony was subdued, the couple are expected to have a larger celebration this weekend when they fly to France. It will likely happen in Nice, since it's known that Bono and The Edge have a place there.
People notes that this is the first marriage for the both of them. The U2 bassist has been twice previously engaged, once to Naomi Campbell and the other to Suzie Smith.
Zap2it reports that Clayton does have a son from a previous relationship.
