More backlash comes to Miley Cyrus after her performance at the Video Music Awards, as she loses prestigious cover.

According to the New York Daily Mail, the editor-in-chief of Vogue decided not to use the singer for an upcoming Vogue cover. Prior to the Video Music Awards, Anna Wintour wanted to name the 20-year-old as a new icon. Yet after the VMAs, Wintour had a change in heart.

“Anna found the whole thing distasteful,” one source said. “She decided, based on Miley’s performance, to take the cover in a different direction.”

The Wrap reports if they kept her, Miley’s Vogue cover would have been issued in December.

Last month Miley turned heads when she went on stage in a skin-colored bikini and twerked with Robin Thicke, giant stuffed teddy bears, and a foam finger. This performance not only costed Cyrus a prestigious cover, but possibly her relationship with Liam Hemsworth as there is another break-up rumor going around.

Vogue has declined to comment on the cover rumor.
