Prison Break actor Wentworth Miller revealed that he attempted to commit suicide “more than once” before coming out in August.

Miller discussed the troubles he endured hiding his true identity during a speech at the Human Rights Campaign Dinner in Seattle, TMZ reports.

"I waited until my family went away for the weekend and I was alone in the house and I swallowed a bottle of pills," he explained I the video recorded Saturday.

"I don't remember what happened over the next couple of days but I'm pretty sure come Monday morning I was on the bus back to school pretending everything was fine,” he adds according to New York Daily News.

"Growing up I was a target. Speaking the right way, standing the right way, holding your wrist the right way. Every day was a test and there was a thousand ways to fail."

Miller revealed that he is gay in August after declining an invitation to attend the St. Petersburg International Film Festival in Russia.
