Woody Allen is receiving the highest honor of the Golden Globes award shows, and an overall prestigious award in general. Allen has created many American classics such as Annie Hall and Manhattan and is now finally getting an award that is much deserves. Especially after the critically and comercially successful Blue Jasmine starring Cate Blanchett.

According to The Guardian Golden Globes organiser Theo Kingma said on Sunday that "there is no one more worthy" of the Cecil B DeMille award. No one can disagree with his statement, as Allen is a truly a prolific filmmaker. He is often praised for creating a movie every year. Allen says "It's no difficult to make movies, but to make good ones, it is." Although Mr. Allen doesn't need to worry about not making good movies. Every year he films a new movie with a modest budget that always busts a profit.

Of course when something of this caliber happens it's likely that Allen won't show up. During the 2011 Academy Awards, Allen's Midnight in Paris received the honors for best original screenplay, but allen was not there to accept. According to NY Times Mr. Allen, 77, does not normally attend awards events. What do you think, will Woody Allen show up to accept this award?
