Directly after Nathan Sykes confirmed his relationship with Yours Truly singer Ariana Grande, a X Factor UK contestant is dishing about her former relationship with The Wanted singer.
Lucy Lydia revealed she and Sykes dated while they both attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School but stopped once he hit it big as a pop star as part of the now famous boy band.
“We had a close relationship but within months of leaving school, Nathan was in The Wanted. The distance was too difficult,” Lydia, 20, said, Metro reports.
They haven’t completely lost touch, though, as Lydia said she talked to him when he was recovering from throat surgery.
“I spoke to him when he was in hospital and he was having a hard time,” she said. “He was abroad, so I couldn’t see him, but Nathan’s doing amazing now.”
Sykes supported her in return, by wearing a bracelet with her name on it. She recently wowed the judges on X Factor. Watch her audition below.
Sykes just tweeted today about his girlfriend, Grande, “So, I guess it’s obvious now … thanks to everyone who is being so lovely. I’m so happy #butweareterrified #pleasedontkillme #orariana.”
