This week on America’s Next Top Model, the models headed to Bali to walk an underwater runway and pose with wild animals.
After Alexandra was eliminated last week, there were five guys and three girls left in the competition, and they all got to travel to Bali for the remainder of the competition. The models were stunned when they reached the luxurious mansion they would be staying at in Bali. Jourdan said it was the “most beautiful house I’ve ever seen in my entire life.” Marvin admitted he could picture himself lying by the pool and watching the sunset with his crush, Renee.
Unfortunately for Marvin, there was no time for romance because the models had to hop on a boat and go out into the middle of the water for their first challenge in Bali. They would be modeling swim suits from the clothing line “69 Slam,” but the runway would be under the water.
While most of the models got into their swim attire and had fish-bowl shaped helmets fitted to their heads (so they could breath underwater), both Nina and Don were freaking out. Nina revealed that a few years ago she had to have part of her lung removed, so if she goes too deep underwater, there’s a chance it could implode. Don was simply having anxiety swimming so deep. So, while the rest of the models rocked the runway under the sea, Nina and Don opted out for a snorkeling version of the challenge, instead.
Not surprisingly, Nina and Don didn’t impress the judges. Chris, Jourdan, and Renee, however, wowed the with their underwater walks. Renee was announced as the challenge winner for her powerful poses, which of course made Jourdan mad because we all know ‘runway is her thing.’
Jourdan had a chance to make it up the next day, however, when she and the other models headed to Bali Safari and Marine Park for their photo shoot. The competitors had to pose next to a wild animal and embody it themselves, which was more of a challenge for some than for others.
Renee had to pose with an adorable leopard, but she was terrified of it! Every time the playful cat moved, she screamed and ran away. After a while, though, she was able to get a few shots in. Jeremy posed with the leopard in his photo too, but he wasn’t scared at all.
Nina and Don were both brave when they posed with a giant python wrapped around them. Unfortunately, although they weren’t frightened, they both struggled because the snake wouldn’t stop moving around!
As for the other models, Cory and Jourdan posed with an orangutan, and Marvin and Chris posed with a pair of macaws. Chris tried to hold his arm like a wing for a bird-inspired pose, but the photographer to just stop because it was not working.
After a wild introduction to Bali, the models had to face the panel of judges to see who would be sent straight back to the U.S. Despite her medical issue in the underwater challenge and her difficulties posing with the python, Nina was the first name called. Renee was right on her tail, followed by Jeremy and Cory. Jourdan was next because her orangutan photo was one of her worst yet. Chris was after her for his boring macaw shot. That left Marvin and Don for the bottom two.
Marvin didn’t wow the judges in the challenge or his photo. Don’s photo wasn’t his best, either; plus he didn’t even do the real challenge. When the scores were tallied, Tyra announced that it was Don who would be going home. Don and Marvin hugged it out, and now that Don was out of the running, he hoped that Marvin would go on to be top model.
Watch the models continue to compete in Bali next Friday on the CW!
