FX’s Fargo limited series has two more big names to add to its cast. Breaking Bad’s Bob Onderick and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Glenn Howerton joined the project on Friday.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Onderick will play Deputy Bill Olson, a Bemidji paired with a more ambitious and excited deputy played by Allison Tolman. Howerton will play an ambitious personal trainer. (There will be a lot of ambitious characters on this show.)
The casting of Onderick and Howerton comes a day after Kate Walsh (Private Practice) joined, along with Joey King and Josh Close. OTher members of the cast include Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Oliver Platt and Colin Hanks.
Fargo is based on Joel and Ethan Coen’s 1996 film, which won the brothers the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay and was nominated for Best Picture. The Coen brothers will be involved in the series as executive producers.
The series, which is expected to run 10 episodes and will debut next year, will not include characters from the film. However, it will have the same “Minnesota nice” flavor that made the film so unique. It is a FX Productions and MGM Television co-production and will be written by Noah Hawley.
