A movie based on the hit HBO series Entourage is finally happening, after several stops and starts. Actor Jerry Ferrara confirmed the news on The Wendy Williams Show and writer/director Doug Ellin tweeted a picture of the cast.

There has been talk of an Entourage movie for years, with producer Mark Wahlberg confirming that it is on the way in Sept. 2011. Warner Bros. gave it the green light back in January. But interest has heated up again, thanks to what the stars have said as of late. Kevin Connolly told TMZ that it was happening and then The Hollywood Reporter did a story on what was allegedly hoping it up: actor Jeremy Piven’s backend compensation. The site reported that Warner Bros. is hoping to make the film for under $30 million.

On Oct. 27, Ellin wrote:

But between then and now, things have changed. Ellin wrote, “It’s a go,” Monday, notes EW.

The Huffington Post notes that Ferrara confirmed that the movie was finally happening on The Wendy Williams Show and also tweeted about it.

Other actors in the show, which ended in 2011, also sent out Tweets to share the news. THR has reported that the studio hopes to get started filming in January and that deals with Adrian Grenier, Ferrara, Kevin Dillon and Connolly are almost complete.
