Fans have been preparing themselves for the end of the hit CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother but plans are already in the works for a spin off show, titled How I Met Your Father.
It has been confirmed that HIMYM creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas,
along with Emily Spivey have pitched the HIMYM inspired spin off, reported Entertainment Weekly. Spivey is known for being the creator and executive producer of Up All Night.
The 30-minute comedy would focus on the story from the perspective of the mother, explaining how she ended up meeting Ted Mosby. The premise, is not tied into the original characters from HIMYM.
It has been suggested that if the idea is given the green light, new characters would be introduced in the HIMYM finale, added Deadline.com.
CBS has found success with How I Met Your Mother, which holds as the high-rated Monday series and second-highest overall, coming in behind The Big Bang Theory.
No word yet on when the final decision will be made about How I Met Your Father.
