A collection of award winners has been put together for The Realistic Joneses, a new play by Will Eno, which will premiere on Broadway this spring.
The incredible cast includes Emmy winner Toni Collette (The United States of Tara); Dexter star Michael C. Hall; Tony winner Tracy Letts (Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?); and Oscar winner Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny), reports The New York Times. The show’s producers made the announcement today.
The Realistic Joneses is a dark comedy that was first produced at Yale Repertory Theater last year and earned wide praise from critics. Sam Gold will return to direct and Letts is reprising his role from that production. Letts’ name should also sound familiar for more than his acting - he’s also the author of August: Osage County. Parker Posey was also a member of the original cast, but she isn’t returning.
Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Jam Theatricals are among the producers of the Broadway version, reports The Associated Press. Previews will star in February with the opening set for March.
Eno is known for the plays Thom Pain (based on nothing), Title and Deed and Middletown. The Realistic Joneses is about a couple who find out that they have more in common than just a last name.
