Finally, it’s the episode of The Good Wife that everyone has been waiting for! Will officially knows about Alicia’s departure and now it’s complete chaos at Lockhart/Gardner.
The moment that Diane tells Will, he immediately storms off to Alicia’s office to confront her. She tries to explain herself, but it’s too late. He sweeps everything off her desk in a crazy rage and yells “you’re fired” right in her face!
And it’s on. Will is gathering the partners to officially oust Alicia, security guards are everywhere to help escort out the fourth-year associates, and it’s total mayhem.
Then Cary arrives. As he enters the building he sees one of his comrades being thrown out of the lobby. He races up to his office to gather his belongings but soon Diane arrives at his door. And if you thought Will was mad, then you clearly haven’t seen Diane in action! She tries to guilt trip him, but Cary isn’t having it.
And now that everyone has been discovered, the crew must set up shop in the coffee place in the lobby. It’s a race between Lockhart/Gardner and Florrick/Agos to call all the top clients. And while Diane tries to remain neutral, she can’t help but side with her old firm.
Of course, it’s not long before she has a moment of panic. Her firm just fired the Governor elect’s wife, what will become of her judgeship nomination? Eli tries to reassure her that her new job is safe, but Peter Florrick has already gone into attack mode. It’s him and Alicia against them all — and for the first time, they are actually completely rocking as a couple! Is anyone else really digging their killer vibe together?
Meanwhile, just as Cary and Alicia are about to meet with their potentially biggest client Chum Hum (aka fake Google), BAM! Lockhart/Gardner hits them with a restraining order. They try to fight it in court, but Cary and Alicia face their first loss. Will-1, Alicia- 0.
Not so fast, Will! Alicia has a few tricks up her sleeve as well. And just as Will and David Lee go to meet with Chum Hum, they get hit with a restraining order as well! So that’s how they’re going to play it…
But Diane can’t just stand by and let this madness ensue. She asks for a truce, and an opportunity for both firms to meet with Chum Hum. Lockhart/Gardner goes first and by the time Florrick/Agos have their chance, it’s already too late. Oops!
And while the new firm circles the drain, Peter isn’t done fighting on his wife’s behalf. In a press conference, Peter just so happens to mention that he’s considering taxing the internet moguls. Was that a threat, dear Peter? You bet it was! And luckily, it works. Chum Hum is in with Florrick/Agos and the new firm finally gets some leeway.
And just when you thought the fight was over, Eli walks into Peter’s office to discuss what he just did. Peter, strong and confident, tells Eli that he wants a new candidate for judgeship. Diane, I guess you better kiss your dream goodbye!
Oh, it is so on.
