ABC’s Lucky 7 has ‘won’ the sweepstakes to become the first cancelled show of the 2013-2014 television season. The show’s first two episodes earned poor ratings, despite airing on the same night as Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Lucky 7 premiered to just 4.5 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in the key 18-49 demographic. It earned even lower numbers for this week’s episode, drawing just 2.8 million viewers and a measly 0.8 18-49 rating.
According to Entertainment Weekly, ABC will air repeats of Scandal (which scored amazing ratings for its premiere last night) in Lucky 7’s place.
The show earned poor reviews from critics. It was an adaptation of a British show and centered on seven people from Queens who won $45 million from the lottery and somehow that gives them grief. The show also had no major stars and was followed by a poor lead-in, Trophy Wife.
Fox’s Sleepy Hollow already won the sweepstakes for first new show to get renewed this season.
