In the usual slew of television shows that slam our screens in the autumn season many fall victim of only running a few episodes long before their networks cancel them. ABCs Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was one of the first programs to get a full season ordered, a 22-episode season will run for the rest of this year and into the next.

According to Variety the show opened up to a the networks largest numbers in four years (an astounding 12 million viewers!), and that's running against shows such as The Voice and NCIS. And while the numbers have dropped since the premiere, the show is still holding strong enough to get a full season under its belt.

Many other shows are not sharing the same fortune as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. According to EW CBS has cancelled the mega-flop comedy show We are Men after only two episodes in. ABC did pull Lucky 7 from its lineup due to poor ratings, and both The Blacklist and Sleepy Hollow have been given full season commitments to share the ranks of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
