Wimbledon champion Andy Murray had to rush to Buckingham Palace after being delayed at home to take a drug test.

The Telegraph reports Murray said, "They turned up at my door at 8:20am and I had a taxi book for half past eight."

He added, "I was a bit worried I was going to be late but the taxi did a great job in getting us here." He also admitted that the drug testing was a "part of the job," but sometimes can be "the last thing you need."

The Scottish tennis champ was being presented with his Order of the British Empire (OBE) by the Duke of Cambridge. He won the award on New Years before later winning Wimbledon. The ceremony where he and others were presented was supposed to be quick, but ran long and some other honorees got less time talking with the Duke.

Murray said he "teased" Prince William over his handwriting, saying Kate Middleton's "handwriting was beautiful and I told him fantastic it was compared to his."

According to The Associated Press, Murray tweeted as he was on his way to receive his OBE about being late.

"In the middle of a drug test hahaha I'm goin to be late!!"

Murray brought his parents and girlfriend to the ceremony.
